La Casa de Baterias "Guarantee" comes with strings

Professional ServicesCAVEAT EMPTOR: I purchased a brand new battery from La Casa de Baterias, four months and 1 week ago. I have purchased at least four batteries from this company so far, mainly because of the convenience (they come to you) and the guarantee. This is the first time I have tried to use the guarantee. And now they say that I need to pay over $16 for them to come out to "examine" the battery. Or I could come to them, but of course, I would have to jump the battery to do so. Not much of a guarantee, if you ask me. I just wanted to share my story with others. I certainly won't give La Casa de Baterias any more of my business!

Editor's Comment: Just to get this straight - if you can get your car running, you can go to the Casa de las Baterias, and they will replace the battery free of charge. They only want to charge you the $16 bucks for a service call. Sorry dude, but that seems fair to me. Also, they have to determine why the battery died. Was the battery at fault, or is your car broke? If the alternator is not properly charging the battery, then you can swap batteries all day long and it won't fix your problem. My opinion, for what it's worth. I use these guys all the time, and there's no better service in Panama. Panama's hot tropical environment is particularly "tough" on batteries and they tend to die sooner that you might expect. You might decide to not give the Casa de Baterias any more of your business, but where else are you going to go?

La Casa de Baterias \"Guarantee\" comes with strings

One month ago, my 4X4 Nissan Pathfinder battery gave up one morning in my garage. I had this battery since August 31, 2007, paid $85.04 at Felipe Rodriguez for it including all mechanics manpower. It is a South Korean maintenance free heavy duty battery. I do not make many mileages per year but many short trips within the city of Panama, many parks and starts. So after 5 years of abuses my battery gave up! My car was “dead” and I called La Casa de Baterias who offered me for a cost of $10.00 to bring to my house a battery costing over $100.00. None the batteries they offered were of good qualities. So I declined and took a taxi ($1.50) with my dead battery to Felipe Rodriguez and bought for $136.00 same battery that served me for five years. Go cheap and pay more!!!

Yeah, you are kinda stuck with the "service' warranty, but there are good Battery Company's out there, Follow up on Interstate Batteries,World wide reputation, push it , they shipped me new sets in Colon,at Shelter Bay.Out of PC,probably Google it, and Phone #315-1656...just sayin, Available all over Panama, even Bocas, But get a jump start first and quit complaining, You're not in Kansas anymore
