The 378-foot cutter will return to Alameda in a few weeks, but not before the Morgenthau crew finishes offloading two tons of cocaine at the San Diego base today and participates in Fleet Week activities in the San Diego area this weekend, 1st Class Petty Officer Henry Dunphy said.
The 4,100 pounds of cocaine was seized about 125 miles south of Panama on July 24, Dunphy said.
Crewmembers detained four suspected smugglers after a patrol aircraft spotted a go-fast boat crew jettisoning packages into the water. (mercurynews.com)
