"I don't want it, I'm not looking for it, and I ask those who believe in me to do me a favor and do not promote it. With regards to my political future, immediate reelection is a closed issue," said Martinelli after hearing news reports indicating that the Deputies are thinking about submitting a proposal to establish the immediate reelection in our country.
Martinelli reacted after the Deputy Vidal Garcia of the Democratic Change party announced on Tuesday September 18 that a a group from his party will insist on the issue of immediate reelection.
Through a statement issued by the Ministry of Communication, Martinelli asked those who support his administration to "not fall into the game of the political opposition, that seeks to divert attention from the programs and projects" being advanced by his administration.
He added that these projects are positively changing the lives of thousands of Panamanians.
"As the ruling party we will focus on the actions we have to do in order to fulfill all the promises we made to the people, and not let anyone or anything distract us from that mission," he concluded. (Estrella)
