Now, the Security Ministry said in this statement they will make changes to the statement of objections of the tender. Meanwhile, sources close to the process claimed that the act was made to order. (Estrella)
Editor's Comment: If the boots can be purchased on the street for $60 retail, then the government should be able to buy them wholesale for about $40 per pair, or a total of $272,000 for the contract, about a million dollars less than what they were going to do. So, this doesn't seem like a very good deal unless they were going to throw in a free riding crop and dog collar with every pair of combat boots, because someone is getting screwed in this deal. How many contracts like this one - with inflated pricing - have gone through in the past three years? Is anyone watching the hen house? Will anyone ever know? Or, will the fact that everyone is making a whole lot of money keep the CD in power in 2014?
