Supreme Court In Battle Over Solis

Law & LawyersThe heart of the Supreme Court is again immersed in diatribes. This time, over the appointment of a new judge to the Electoral Court. Judicial sources told La Estrella that five of the nine justices are inclined to reelect Gerardo Solis. The rest, including Harry Diaz and Alejandro Moncada do not support the idea. Therefore, the appointment could be delayed until January. Lawyers and civil society leaders considered such a possibility would be contrary to the constitutional deadlines. "It is an obligation to appoint on time," said the former Supreme Court judge Alberto Cigarruista. (Estrella)

Editor's Comment: There's no way in hell the Supreme Court will reappoint Gerardo Solis for another term. This rumor is nothing more than someone's wet dream, and the odds of it actually happening are less than zero in my estimation.
