Members of the National Union of Traders and Microentrepreneurs on Friday expressed their dissatisfaction with the eviction done in recent days by the Mayor of Panama in the 5 de Mayo Plaza and the pedestrian area of Calle Central. America Champasaur of the Traders Association reported that the authorities evicted them, but meanwhile in Casco Viejo there are foreigners who are selling their crafts made in Panama. According to the complainants, the eviction hit 25 Panamanians. (Telemetro)

Editor's Comment: In Panamanian Spanish, they call the people who have those little street side shops "buhoneros." The word is applied to anyone who sells small items in a small little temporary shop or stand like this. These guys always play a sort of cat and mouse game with the authorities from the Municipality. They get kicked out, they come back, repeat, continue.
