User Database Purge Underway on Panama Guide Website

By DON WINNER for - This afternoon I deleted about 4,500 user accounts from this website. Most of them were very old. Some accounts had been created, but the user had never logged on. In some cases the user created the account, logged on once, then never came back. Some were "regular" users, who have not returned in months.

As part of this new "pay wall" model, the User accounts will be what separates paying subscribers from the anonymous public at large. Over the past several days many people have subscribed by paying through PayPal, and then they established their accounts on this website. Eventually only paying subscribers will have user accounts. I'm still in the process of trimming down the last couple of hundred users in the database, those who have not yet subscribed. I've done the heavy chopping, now I'm down to the finer whittling and carving.

There's a possibility that I might have deleted an account belonging to someone who has paid to subscribe. It that happened, no problem. Just create a new account using the same email address you used to pay via PayPal. I did not delete any of the newly created accounts, or accounts belonging to anyone who has logged in during the past week or so. So, if you just created your account and logged in to check it out, you shouldn't have a problem.

From now on I am only going to approve new accounts belonging to paid subscribers. And, all existing accounts belonging to people who have not subscribed will be deleted.

Once again, I ask for your patience as I work through the details of implementing this change.
