Scholarships For Panamanian Students To Study At Cornell in New York

Schools & EducationStarting today, thousands of Panamanians have the opportunity to compete for a partial scholarship to earn a Masters of Public Administration at Cornell University in the United States.

Yesterday, President Ricardo Martinelli signed an agreement with the higher education institution, based in New York.

"This is going to change the lives of the Panamanians who study for their masters degree at the university, considered to be among the best in North America," Martinelli said.

During the meeting, Martinelli spoke of public policy, economic development, and its impact on the country, and the projects his administration are developing.

Representing Cornell were Thomas O’Toole and Álvaro Salas Castro, executives from the institution, who spoke about the great prestige of the institution in the world. (Panama America)

Editor's Comment: These scholarships will be competitive, with students applying and earning a spot based on their qualifications and prior academic performance. So, Martinelli visits Cornell, makes a speech, and scores a bunch of scholarships for Panamanian students. Good for him.

Hopefully they will go to students that really need them.
