There were no reports of damage or injuries from the earthquake, it only caused fear among the people in Barú, Bugaba, Alanje y David.
The magnitude 2.4, 2.5 and 2.8 earthquakes were strongly felt in Puerto Armuelles and the banana plantations in Barú, according to the SINAPROC and the Fire Department of Chiriqui.
For the past six days there have been 10 earthquakes in Chiriqui, most of them centered in the Pacific to the west of Chiriqui and the highlands of Bugaba.
Abelardo Serrano, director of the SINAPROC in Chiriqui, requested the community to have emergency plans and be prepared for any event of a greater magnitude.
“We must remember this is a highly seismic region and we must have plans to be prepared before, during and after an earthquake,” said the official. (TVN)
