Mariano Rivera's Day - Spirit Of Celebration In The Bronx

Sports SectionThe main roads in the Bronx, New York, are filled with signs announcing Mariano Rivera’s Day on Sunday September 22, day in which the Panamanian closer will be honored by the Yankees on his mound.

Rivera, a man from the small coastal village of Puerto Caimito in La Chorrera, is already a living legend without even being in the Hall of Fame.

The articles: hats, shirts, keychains, pictures, among others with the number 42 used by Mariano Rivera are the most sold articles; in fact, a new shipment is expected to arrive before Sunday.

Rivera’s achievements and personality have earned him the affection and respect of not only the fans of the NY Yankees, but of all baseball fans in general.

Rivera never loses his composure; even though he only has one pitch every time he faces other teams – a cut fastball.

All baseball players know what to expect, but no one has been able to figure out the magic behind his pitch which confuses and frustrates even the best hitters. (TVN)
