Ayś Prado Demanded An Explanation From Moncada On The Budget For The Judicial Branch

Animals & PetsThe magistrate of the Criminal Chamber, José Ayś Prado, asked the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Alejandro Moncada Luna, an urgent and extraordinary meeting to explain why the Judicial Branch only received $105 million for the budget for 2014.

Ayś Prado’s inquiry arises because Moncada Luna informed the Court on August 28 that the Budget Committee of the Assembly approved $27 million more, so the total was going to be $132 million.

Ayś Prado, in a note sent in October 16, requested Moncada Luna to call for “an extraordinary and urgent meeting” with the representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finances, and the members of the directive board of the Assembly to clarify the difference between the numbers.

Also, he suggested the rest of the magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice to go with him to this meeting “showing their solidarity.”

The note of Ayś Prado was sent the same day that the National Assembly approved, in third hearing, the general budget of the State for 2014, in which the $105 million budget for the Judicial Branch was confirmed.

This amount was formalized in Law 75, dictating the general budget of State for 2014 and published in the Official Gazette 27400-A of October 22. (Prensa)
