Panama football international Renteria passes away

Renteria scored once during Panama’s run to a third-place finish at the 2011 Copa Centroamericana, helping the Canaleros qualify for the Gold Cup. In the CONCACAF competition later that same year, he appeared in four of five games as Panama advanced to the semifinals.
The forward also represented Panama on four occasions in World Cup qualifiers.
In 2010, Renteria netted two goals in Tauro’s 2-1 CONCACAF Champions League win at Marathon.
His career included spells with Real Cartagena in Colombia and Bolivia’s Bolivar.
CONCACAF extends its condolences to Renteria’s family and friends, as well as the Panamanian football community.
