I've been through the '89 loma Prieta quake....lived 2 miles from the epicenter. The 30,000 gallons of water in my pool heaved 20' in the air and came crashing down hard, destroying the pool and knocked parts of my house off its foundation. That quake was a wave like plate shift.

I've lived on the big island of Hawaii (the rock) and felt the sheer violent shaking that will rattle your teeth.

This quake was more of a swirling motion, like when you flush a turd.

We were strolling through Multiplaza Mall at the time this supposedly happened. We felt nothing and no one in the Mall appeared to feel or notice anything!
