Contributed by: Don WinnerThe various teachers' unions came out to protest again this morning, but this time they are marching on Via Espaņa, near the El Carmen church.
The public school teachers, who have been on strike for the past six days, are marching from the church towards the headquarters of the Human Rights Ombudsman on Calle 50.
So far there has been no "white smoke" from the authorities of the Ministry of Education and the educators, so their protests continue.
The public school teachers, together with their union leaders, hope the Minister of Education Lucy Molinar will arrive today to give them an answer to their demands, and that she will not send a representative.
The striking teachers are demanding the Ministry of Education agree to pay them a $300 per month raise, without conditions, and especially for the raise to be disbursed before 15 May. (Critica)
Editor's Comment: Again, politically motivated. They are trying to take advantage of the fact that we are now just a few days before the elections, to press their demands.
