Panama's Prison Guards End Their (Prophylactic) Strike

The strike started by prison guards as a tactic to apply pressure to the new government authorities, to demand improvements to working conditions and pay increases, was suspended after Panama's Human Rights Ombudsman Lilia Herrera achieved mediation between the representatives of the guards and the Deputy Government Minister Marķa Luisa Romero.
