Police Find Car of Murdered Spanish Businessman in Arraiján

Crime & Punishment By Luis Carlos Rodríguez for La Critica - Thanks to a tip from some workers yesterday the Panamanian National Police found the Toyota Prado 4x4 SUV with license plate number 467577, owned by murdered Spanish manager of the oil company CEPSA, 49 year old Manuel Machín Ramos, in the neighborhood of Altos de Cáceres, in Arraiján. According to witnesses the car was abandoned on Wednesday at about 2:00 pm by one person. Workers who are repairing a church in Cáceres reported the presence of the car to the authorities. The police still have four suspects in custody who were arrested on Wednesday night in Rio Abajo. Although robbery appears to be the primary motive for the murder, police are also investigating the possibility of a botched kidnapping attempt. An autopsy revealed that Machín died as a result of massive hemorrhaging due to a gunshot wound in the lower part of the abdomen.
