Expocomer 2010 Will Be Held from 3 to 6 March

Panama's Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture held a press conference yesterday to announce that everything is ready to kick off the biggest and most important trade fair in the country, Expocomer 2010, which will be held from 3 to 6 March at the ATLAPA Convention Center. This year Expocomer will feature the participation of countries like Taiwan, Mexico and India, as well as the People's Republic of China, Colombia and Korea who also form part of the group of countries that will "once again honor us with their presence," said Inocencio Galindo, president of the Organizing Committee for Expocomer 2010. Forums, trade missions, individual events and a select program tailored to the needs of visitors, provide additional incentives for exhibitors and buyers participating in the fair that will help to consolidate its international prestige. Among the side events to be held within the framework of Expocomer - there will be a symposium lecture titled "Crisis Management" with the participation of five recognized panelists and five former American presidents, moderated by renowned CNN in Spanish journalist Alberto Padilla and the former presidents Francisco Flores of El Salvador, Rafael Callejas of Honduras and Ernesto Samper of Colombia. Also, for the third consecutive year, the CCIAP together with the National Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) will present the National Award for Innovation. This award is given to Panamanian companies and innovative entrepreneurs for their noted commercial or industrial activities. The slogan this year is "Expocomer, much more than a fair: a country event." This international trade exhibition has grown in the last 28 years and now the ATLAPA Convention Center has already become small, which is why organizers closely follow and support the government's initiative to build a new convention center to be consistent with the needs and requirements of the development occurring in Panama.
