PSS “Learn to Sail” adventures are co-ed and can also be created for you including hotel accommodation, sightseeing and much more in Panama. How it Works: Our Learn to Sail course includes comprehensive classroom and on-water sailing instruction each day. It’s a terrific basic sailing learning experience that epitomizes the beauty of sailing -- intense, fun, challenging, relaxing and rewarding. You’ll sail the dynamic Beneteau Oceanis 361 - "Scouser" or the Gulfstar 44 - "Brahams." As you can read, we have many excellent sailing yachts. These carefully thought-out, award-winning sailing yachts have huge comfortable cockpits, many go-fast adjustments, safety features and easy handling characteristics. No more than six other classmates and your instructor are aboard, insuring maximum individual instruction and a job for everyone at all times.
Learn to Sail Course Schedules: Take the ASA 101 whole course in two action-packed days, or at a more leisurely pace over three days and even add the ASA 103 for another 2 days, depending on the location you choose. The ASA 101 and the ASA 103 can be combined to four-day schedule includes 1 hour of classroom each day, followed by 6 hours of on-water instruction with a break for lunch ashore. The rest of the week can be planned for you to go “River Rafting, Canopy Trails, Surfing, Diving, etc.” Panama has lots to offer for enthusiastic sports minded students full of adventure. The five-day schedule (at some of the Panama Sailing School Resort locations) includes morning classroom sessions and half-days of on-water instruction, leaving plenty of time to pursue other resort activities. Years of Combined Experience: The Board of Directors and Instructors have lived a Sailing Life of Racing, Teaching & Instruction on an International Level for many years and have extensive knowledge and experience in Sailing & Racing Instruction. ASA 104 Course: We also offer packages with include the ASA 104 course. All of this information is on the web site or call our “Toll Free Numbers from Canada, USA, Europe and speak to Claudia, Edel or one of the Instructors who maybe teaching the class in the Classroom. Every course includes a practice sail where you and your classmates chart a course and sail on your own, without your instructor aboard. If you choose the 3-day schedule, your practice sail is held the last three hours of the course. Longer schedules include practice sail ranging from half days to full day sessions. Do not forget our Tuition Time Payment Plans for the courses, which is also a first around the world. Remember also that all our Captains and Instructors are Bonded and Certified.
Pearl Islands of Panama Cruise: There are several ways to explore the Pearl Islands. We offer a relaxing 5 day, all inclusive, yachting trip on a sailboat. After joining the boat in Panama which is the gateway to the Pearl Islands - and a short safety and navigation briefing we will depart for a local anchorage in the shelter of one of the islands. During the navigation briefing the plan for the trip will be finalized. We will focus on whatever you wish to do or see during your voyage. You participate at whatever level you are comfortable. If you would like to steer we will help you stay on track. If you want to be chauffeured around that is ok with us too. However if you want to learn to sail we suggest; you sign up for one of our courses. Sailing, visiting islands, swimming, snorkeling, sightseeing, relaxing, and just plain enjoying being outside on the Ocean are all possible. Each night will be spent anchored in a different bay and on a different island according to your desires.
Panama Sailing School Sunset Cruises in Panama: Have you had a stressful day at work? What better way to relax than taking a leisurely sunset sail. Enjoy the sights and sounds as you glide across the Panama Bay or up to the Panama Canal and view the light on the “Bridge of the Americas”. See your world from a different perspective. Watch in awe as the colors change with the setting sun. A typical cruise would start with a short safety briefing and a navigation orientation session. Once the sails are set you participate at whatever level you are comfortable. If you would like to steer we will help you stay on track. If you want to be chauffeured around that is ok with us too. If you would like to combine a shore side BBQ in addition to your cruise we can do that too at our club. If you take advantage of our Amador location dinner on board is another possibility from one of the many excellent bistros in Amador. If the idea of sailing by moonlight interests you we can accommodate that as well depending on how many guests will join your romantic adventure. Of course they can only take place on nights when the moon is available. In fact our well trainer professional staff will work with you to design your cruise so that it will be a memorable experience for you, your family, and your friends. - Basic Keelboat Sailing (Course #101): For the person whose business only allows them a short escape, come enjoy the Basic Keelboat course offered as a 2 day sailing immersion course. In which 6 hours of instruction are done on the water each day for 2 days, followed by testing and certification. This class is offered on the water and you will be immersed into the sailing world. But don’t worry, with this kind of ocean time, you will experience and learn more than sailing. For those with more time, the class can be broken into 4 hours of instruction time on the water for 3 days. Learn the fundamentals of keel boat sailing, including sail theory and practice, terminology, Rules of the Road, safety equipment and procedures, Crew Overboard drills, more sailing practice, knots and much more. Observe the marine life that has opened it’s world to you as you learn to sail.

- Coastal Cruising (Course #103):This course prepares the individual to cruise safely in waters as both skipper and crew on an auxiliary sailboat up to 36 feet in length, in moderate winds and sea conditions. This course is offered as a 2 day course on water. This course is 6 hours/day and is a 2 day course. Testing and certification will be given after the completion of course. Prepare yourself with this class for the bareboat charter course. (Prerequisites: 101)

- Bareboat Charter (Course #104): The basics of sailing and coastal cruising as outlined in the course descriptions as we sail off to Las Perlas. Sail into the sunset and listen as nature takes a deep breath. - Coastal Navigation Standard (Course #105): You will learn to use the tide and current tables to find: Times and heights of tides at reference and secondary ports. The direction and rate of current at referenced and secondary stations. You will learn to convert courses and bearings between true, magnetic, and compass. You will also learn how to check compass deviation by means such as a transit bearing, plot a dead reckoning position on a chart using speed, time and course to steer, allow for the effect of current and leeway to plot the estimated position, determine a course to steer which takes into account known current and leeway, determine current given the course steered and speed and two observed positions. You will also learn how to plot a chart position from terrestrial objects using two or more bearings on different objects taken at one time, bearings at different times (i.e. a running fix), explain the terms and characteristics used for lighted navigation aids, and much more…
