I Love My New Kindle ... Great For Book Lovers in Panama

That is not correct. Where you, your internet connection and your kindle are physically located has no bearing on either the availability of books or their cost. What matters is what country you designate when you open an amazon account (a designation that can be changed at any time). This is determined by the country in which your financial identity used for the account is located. If you maintain a financial identity in the USA (credit card issued in the USA, US credit card billing address of record), you can designate your account as a USA account. I have used kindle for over 2 1/2 years and last year upgraded to the newest version that has wifi. I regularly download books direct from amazon. When I had the older version that used only telco wireless, I simply "downloaded to computer" designating my kindle as a "drive" on my computer. Since I maintain a financial identity in the USA, my amazon account is a USA account. You can do the same, so long as you continue to maintain a USA based financial identity.
