Canadian Drowns While Swimming At The Beach

My condolences to the poor guy's family. You always state that the most dangerous thing you can do in PTY is drive and I agree, but the beaches are also very dangerous particularly for us older folks. When I first came to Panama I was a beach freak like so many of us from the north. After getting in trouble (almost drowning or getting beaten up by surf) at La Barqueta, Las Lajas, El Palmar, and what's now Red Frog Beach, I decided to take my Panamanians' friends advice and confine my activities to swimming pools or resort hotels' beaches, much safer, also no creepy/crawlies, except for 2-legged ones.
