Ozzy Osbourne Tours Presidential Palace - Meets President Martinelli

Bands & MusicThe popular and legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne used his first visit to the country for sightseeing at the Panama Canal just before the concert that he will give today at the Figali Convention Center. At 2:00 pm yesterday the "the prince of darkness" went to the Presidency of the Republic to meet with President Ricardo Martinelli, as the public relations office ShowPro. Ozzy, dressed in black from head to toe, his cross-shaped ring on his right hand and sunglasses, got out of a white Chevrolet van with the owner of ShowPro, Alfredo 'Popa' Arias, and one of the cameramen that is part of his press team. The Briton was greeted at the entrance to the Palace of the Herons by the protocol staff and minutes later, president Martinelli welcomed him and invited him to get to know the Presidential Palace. This visit by Ozzy, who has a career spanning over 40 years, lasted less than an hour, but he took advantage of the visit to see the entire Presidency, including the equally famous herons. We can not say that president Martinelli is an Ozzy fan, but we know he took the opportunity to pose for a photo with the rock legend. Well, Mr. President, we will be watching to see if we see you at the concert tonight. (El Siglo)

Now Blasting My Speakers - System of a Down (Toxicity)

Bands & MusicBy DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Some songs are only really good when played at a very, very high volume setting. This is one of them. I mean, vibrating the neighbor's windows loud ... like that. Warning - it ain't for everybody.

Now Playing - Emerson Lake & Palmer - Tarkus

Bands & MusicBy DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Back in the days before MTV musicians used to have to be technically competent. They just don't make music like this anymore. Anyway, for what it's worth - I like to listen to music while I'm working and this is what is coming out of my speakers right now.

Limp Bizkit Concert in Panama - CANX

Bands & Music By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Well, that sucks. Limp Bizkit has cancelled their concert in Panama scheduled for 16 October 2010. This actually happens frequently in Panama. Bands put a date on their calender and then they see how ticket sales go. If they don't hit a predetermined level of sales by a certain date, they cancel. Their managers normally blame the cancellation on health issues, exploding poodles, or whatever - but in reality it's all about the money. They can't take the risk of coming to Panama and not selling enough tickets to make money, so why bother? Too bad...
