The operation was conducted in Maria Chiquita up the coast when officers were suspicious of a truck carrying sand. Immediately, the truck was inspected by police units and they found 100 kilos of cocaine with lots of coffee to cover the smell.
The Deputy Commissioner Porfirio Justavino, head of the National Police in Colon, said they ran a test for drugs and it came back positive. The drug was hidden in a false bottom in the truck.
He said four Colombians are under investigation, three adults and a 17-year-old.
Last June 28, 12 packages of drugs were seized, and later, on July 2, 75 packages were seized; all of them at Maria Chiquita. (Panama America)
