"Is There A Thanksgiving Day Party Somewhere?"

Groups & Organizations By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Received today via email: "Dear Don, we are enjoying your Panama-Guide since relocating here to Panama 1 month ago. We thought about making a Thanksgiving Dinner because we love to cook and eat and its our favorite holiday. But, we are temporarily staying in a guest house and the kitchen is so hot and unpleasant that roasting a turkey is out of the question AND the kitchen is so ill equipped. Which leads us to the question - is there a group of expats who gather either at a home or a restaurant for Thanksgiving here in PC and where we would be welcome? We would be more than happy to help cook and/or pay for dinner - we are just craving some good ole American company with all the fixings. Thanks for any suggestions. Hey, and have yourself a very Happy Thanksgiving! Lauren & Chuck."

There Are A Few Things Going On: I know the Panama Canal Elks Lodge #1414 is having their Thanksgiving Party on Thursday at 4:00 pm. I'm afraid you already missed the party held by the American Society of Panama, because they already did their thing last week. The Balboa Yacht Club and VFW Post 3835 Ladies Auxiliary will be holding their feast on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, 25 November, 2010. Now, as far as anything else that might be going on by the way of private parties, groups in a restaurant or something like that, if anything has something going on please let us know in the comments section. Thanks.

American Society of Panama - Support For Groups and Organizations

Groups & Organizations By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Received today via email: "Hi Don, On Panama-Guide with the VFW, Elks, and Bocas BESOS logos on the first page under "Groups and Organizations", would you post the AmSoc Logo and link to it's web site? Web site link is www.amsoc.org Logo is attached. Thanks, Linda Gruenert, American Society, Vice President, Marketing and Communications Chairperson"

Of Course, My Pleasure: It's up on the front page, no problem. I've always supported all of the groups and organizations of the English speaking community of expatriates here in the Republic of Panama. If there is anyone else out there please send me the same - just the link to your website and a graphic of your logo - and I'll put it up. And if you've sent it already don't be afraid to pester. Sometimes these things get pushed off of the front burner and maybe I missed it. When it comes to announcements for events or upcoming activities, meetings, or what have you, please send me simple text in the body of an email only. If you send me a highly formatted Microsoft Word document, embedded images, .pdf flyers, or what have you I simply don't have the time to de-construct those and then to rebuild them in html formatting to be posted on the website. Anyway, if your organization is a legitimate non-profit then I will be happy to provide support. The American Society of Panama is one of the longest standing and best organizations and activities in the country, and I highly recommend that newly arriving members of the community should seek them out and join up, they are a mostly social and charitable organization, and it's my pleasure to be able to help out in any way.
