Boquete Community Players present A BROADWAY REVUE

Theater & Fine ArtsBoquete - Come on along and listen to…..A Lullaby Of Broadway. The Boquete Community Players (BCP) are issuing a casting and staff call now for their May 27-30 Broadway Revue. The first pre-production meeting will be held at their new facility on Saturday, February 27 at 1:00 pm. Spots to be filled are for unit directors (one each for 8 ten minute spots in the show), as well as staff to work on wardrobe, makeup, set design and props, sound and light, stage manager, and all around helper positions, as well as singers, dancers and extras. Producers and choreographer are already in place, so join in on the fun. If you’re in the area, and have always wanted to get involved with community theater, now’s your chance. The Producers have divided the task for performers into 8 songs of about 10 minutes each. This gives newcomers a chance to be on stage, but without learning pages of scripted lines which cause some to shy away from the theater. Songs from Cabaret, Annie Get Your Gun, Phantom, Funny Girl, Chicago and Chorus Line will be performed each of the 3 nights and the last day matinee. For more information on being involved, contact ameliaboquete@gmail.com or lane.suarez@gmail.com. BCP will hold rehearsals and performances in their brand newly renovated theater, Centro de Eventos, just across the Boquete Bridge downtown. The facility contains a party room (available for group bookings), a lobby/bar area and a 112 seat theater with state of the art sound and light systems. The renovation was lovingly done by volunteers in the community, and donations of equipment and property were solicited from the area. The result is a comfortable, modern theater to showcase BCP and other area productions, meetings, conferences, parties, etc. For information about rental of the facility, contact sitemanager@boquetecommunityplayers.com.
