ETESA Hydrometeorology Management Weather Website

WeatherThis webpage is produced by the Direction of Hydrometeorology of Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica S.A. (ETESA). They work together with people from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hidrology (INAMHI). "The Department of Meteorology is in charge of processing and registering the information generated in the network of meteorological stations in the country, and of planning, coordinating and projecting the national researches on meteorology and the issuing of weather forecasts. And Then, It Rained...

WeatherSo much for the social security reform protests. If there's one thing Panamanians won't do, it's protest in a downpour like this. At 6:30 AM local we are having a classic Panamanian gully-washer. If this keeps up all day, then the protests won't happen. The movement is from the southeast to the northwest, and this has the "feel" of a system that might produce heavy rains all day.

Flooding in Bocas

WeatherFloods continue to effect thousands in Bocas de Toro in Panama. President Torrijos has declared the area a disaster area, and Panamanian authorities are working within their means to provide relief.
